GO HENRY
My Friend Henry Dolan needs a new heart and I am trying to work behind the scenes to raise money for his family by creating a song and video that can serve as a rallying cry for the Annandale community and beyond to offer their support for him and his family during this extremely difficult time. Here is what his Mom (Mollie) wrote about where things stand:
“Henry is in heart failure. He has stage 4 Cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) a severe, accelerated form of coronary artery disease that affects the blood vessels of a transplanted heart and is the leading cause of graft failure and death. Unfortunately this is irreversible and there is no treatment.
Henry has begun the process to relist for a second heart transplant. The current wait times have been around 12-18 months. There’s a lot of unknowns for what this is going to look like for him.
We will be in patient at Mayo, Rochester-St. Mary’s hospital in the pediatric ICU for the duration of the waiting. This is because he’s at a high risk for a cardiovascular event with the severe narrowing of his arteries. He will also likely need to be supported better by medicines as we wait.”
